Captain & Dive Instructor Steve Hogan

Captain Steve is founder and owner of the company, in addition to being a captain and dive instructor he is an award winning cinematographer specializing in underwater photography.  Steve has shot underwater for NatGeo Wild, Discovery, the Travel Channel, ABC and several other productions.  Steve has lived and dived in Hawaii for over 30 years. Dive Instructor & Photographer Benja Iglesis

Benja was born and raised in Chile and is a well-known professional photographer. He has had his photos in magazines such as Sport Diver, Alert Diver, Spare Air, Ocean Kayak, and Aloha Airlines. He has shot pictures— above and below the sea— in 48 countries. Benja is fluent in Spanish and English, and speaks Italian and some Portuguese. Go to

Captain and Dive Instructor John Nelson

In addition to working with Makena Coast Dive Charters, John has traveled extensively as a flight attendant for Hawaiian Airlines and is fluent in Japanese. His life revolves around the ocean, loves fishing and is also an excellent videographer and photographer.
