Directions

Makena Coast Charters snorkeling and diving charters out of the Kihei Boat Ramp, Maui, Hawaii. The boat ramp is located at the south end of South Kihei Road, just before Wailea. (South Kihei Road is the frontage road that runs right along the ocean in Kihei, parallel to Hwy 31.)

The ramp is located directly across the street from the Maui Kamaole Condominiums at 2777 S. Kihei Rd. The Kihei Boat ramp is not a harbor, just a big parking lot, a ramp, and two docks. You are to park in the UPPER parking lots closest to the street. Parking is free. The larger lower lot, where you will find the boat, truck, and trailer, is for trucks and trailers ONLY.

If you are on the morning charter, you will meet the crew with the boat, truck, and trailer in the parking lot at 6:30 a.m. The boat says “The Getaway” down the sides and on the back.

If you are on the 9:30 a.m. charter, you will meet the Captain near the boat launching area under the trees at the bench tables at 9:00 a.m.

Directions

The Kihei Boat Ramp is located just 5-10 minutes from Wailea, 10-15 minutes from Makena, 15-20 minutes from Maalaea, 30 minutes from Kahului airport and harbor, 45 minutes to an hour from Lahaina, and an hour from Kaanapali. The benefit of that drive by car is that that the Kihei Boat Ramp is only a 20-minute boat ride to Molokini Crater. We can get back to the harbor much faster than any of the boats leaving from Maalaea Harbor, Lahaina Harbor, or Mala Wharf.
